I really hope you are being ironic, considering your sig. Who do you think is trying to kill net-radio?

It was inevitable that the slimy bastards would win one eventually and that the punishment should act as a deterrant to others, but the fine doesn't really seem proportionate to the crime.

Having read further into this story it seems that the burden of proof was on the defendant to prove her innocence rather than the RIAA having to prove her guilt - is this a fair and just process?

Also, how much of the money 'recouped' is going to go to the artists concerned, or will it all be swallowed up by the RIAA?

Maybe it's time we cut out the greedy middle men, with their outdated methods and racketeering ways (Richard Gabriel was quoted as saying "This is what can happen if you don't settle" ) and gave money direct to the artists themselves. We have the technology in the internet and cd burners - why do we need the RIAA and record companies?

I'm not a particular fan of Radiohead, but I'm sure as hell going to BUY their album direct from them when it comes out. The sooner we can get rid of the parasites treating their customers like criminals the sooner we can listen to what we like, and not just the homogenized crap they keep trying to force on us.

Sony: FFXIII PS3 exclusivity under discussion.

I can vouch for CaptainSpaldings comment - you still can't get hold of a wii for love or money, but the PS3 is readily available everywhere you go.

I think the days of exclusivity are dead and thank fuck for that!
