i am really fond of the other 2 slogans as well.... perhaps we could use all 3
it would be awesome if we had one on the main default theme (white theme) like mine, then on the dark them you had the "easy to navigate with one hand", and if we can finally get a car theme back.. that would be a good one to have suom's slogan
might be a nice way to use all 3 ;)
Firstly, congrats, but not only a true winner, but one who accepts the contributions of the 'runners-up!' It is with ppl like urself, that makes it this 'Site' that even more better than the rest! Once again..congrats! (respect)

Well, let me be the first to comment..Like the changes have been good, and from this end, much appreciated. My main and only concern was the deletion of the Private Messages, both in the Outbox and History. Well, to my suprise, I deleted 58 pages, but for some reason, it 'kept' 2 pages there. No real probs, as it must give u so more space now.
If the only prayer you say in your life is "thankyou," that would suffice to u and ur team Diz. Once again, ty!
Australian navy defends paying for breast implants
Posted by SydneySinbad on 11:37 AM 09/18/2007
If, in fact, the two officers involved, aged 25 and 32, were suffering psychologically so badly that they needed new breasts to make themselves feel better, surely there are sound psychological reasons why they shouldn't be in the Navy at all.
Our Naval officers are expected to lead their people into battle in places such as the Persian Gulf. How on Earth can new breasts help? Surely, underlings would be more inclined to laugh at them.

Cosmetic procedures undertaken solely for the purpose of preserving or improving a person's subjective appearance will be considered only if the underlying (psychological) problem is causing difficulties that adversely impact on the member's ability to do their job. Operations purely for cosmetic reasons are not allowed.
Just as there are in civilian life, there are some females who feel their breasts are too small and if their breasts were bigger, they might be of a 'normal' woman. If they were lacking in self-confidence, this might provide the measure of self-confidence that would help them tackle their wider job.

Remember, the key point here is that the officers were provided with silicone implants for psychological reasons. Not because they've been disfigured as a result of their service.

Thorpie taught me how to scream: Barnes
Thursday Mar 1 11:32 AEDT
Billy Thorpe died of a heart attack in hospital hours before friend and fellow rocker Jimmy Barnes left the same Sydney hospital following open heart surgery.
Barnes said he was shattered over the death of his mate and mentor.
"I'm totally shattered and my family and I send our love to Lynne and the girls," the former Cold Chisel frontman said in a statement dedicated to Thorpe's family.
"For once in my life I'm at a loss for words."
Thorpe, 60, died at St Vincent's Hospital early on Wednesday after suffering a massive heart attack at his Sydney home.
Hours later Barnes, 50, left St Vincent's for home following open heart surgery last Thursday to replace a faulty aortic valve.
Thorpe paved the way for Australian rock bands such as Cold Chisel, AC/DC, Rose Tattoo and Midnight Oil, while his vocals inspired Barnes' gravelly trademark sound.
"As a kid I'd go to Thorpie's shows and get there early so I could be in the front row and just study him," Barnes said in a recent interview.
"I learnt to scream from listening to him. Every time I see Billy, I let him know that I pay homage to him."
Rock band INXS also paid tribute to Thorpe.
"Billy was always there for others and will be remembered as one of Australia's greatest music ambassadors," the band said in a statement.
"Our thoughts are with his family, and also with his many fans, of whom we are proud to count ourselves a part."
"We grew up listening to Thorpie," said INXS, comprising Andrew Farriss, Tim Farriss, Jon Farriss, Gary Beers, Kirk Pengilly and JD Fortune.
"The first gigs we ever snuck into were Billy and the Aztecs pinning us to the back wall with their power and extreme volume.
"Kirk and Tim have fond memories of when they hitched their way to Melbourne to see the Aztecs' legendary Sunbury performance where they blew Deep Purple off stage."
After years of idolising Thorpe, the band finally got to meet him in the early 1980s.
"We were more than impressed with his intelligence, graciousness and passion for music," they said.
"He was always pushing the boundaries of the Australian music industry."

I knew him well, sortof personally, over the years. Used to start off at age 18, at the Sydney Sound Lounge at Kings Cross, Sydney. I mainly went to see Vince, from the Aztecs, and it was always a Saturday nite jam. My fav song was always 'Poison Ivy' which he resurrected over the years. He was straight, no drugs and a kwl dude. Yes, watched the local news 2nt, and top media play on his passing. He will be sadly missed by friends and the music industry alike. RIP Billy. btw Bad Human, no he wasn't from Midnight Oil, but from the same era.

US bans Vegemite
Posted by SydneySinbad on 12:15 AM 10/30/2006
This week I learned that people are being stopped from bringing Vegemite into the USA and I need an extra dose of commonsence to compensate. Vegemite is being stopped from entering the US because it contains Folate which the US does not allow added to any food except bread and cereals. They add it to bread and cereals because pregnant women especially need it but people were found to be deficient(probably from too much processed food). So now it's banned from other foods so people don't consume too much. Talk about making problems for ourselves!
VEGEMITE ` AUSTRALIAN BORN AND BRED.
The Vegemite Story started in 1923 after war had delayed supplies of imported yeast extracts. Fred Walker, a business visionary and founder of Fred Walker & Co enlisted the support of Dr Cyril P Callister, a brilliant young scientist to create an Australian made yeast spread. After many attempts they developed a spread that would fit the bill. But what to call it? The company could not decide so they ran a competition. The response was overwhelming and there was only one fair way to decide a winner. Fred's daughter Sheilah pulled a name from a hat. That name was "Vegemite" and an Australian icon was born. At that same time Fred Walker joined forces with a Canadian, James Kraft to start a joint venture company - The Kraft Walker Cheese company. Vegemite has been made in Melbourne since 1923. And it is from here that we continue to put a rose in every cheek.
