This is very strange to me. In Sweden they would never have ended up in a court in the first place, if you're under 15 and commit an offence of some kind it is always a case for the Social Services. A child has no business in a court. :|

Actually, he didn't even have the time to cash in the ticket. The storeowner saw him take it in a tv-monitor and recognized him. He then went home to the boys house and demanded to get it back.
There arn't any previous rules about what to do if the winning ticket is stolen so it's going to be a court that will decide who'll be getting the money.
And based on my own experiences in working at a gasstation I think the store has the right to it, because the store has to by a batch of about 100 tickets before they can sell them...
