Music Forum Rules {Updated: 30-03-2007}
Welcome to the music forum. This is where all music based topics should be placed. This is where you can talk about your favorite artists, music genres, album art/album design, etc.
There are two main forum moderators for this forum. EricLindros and Myself. PUNLY – http://www.whatboyswant.com/sendmessage/161839/ EricLindros - http://www.whatboyswant.com/userprofile/74340 IMPORTANT NOTE: I, PUNLY, wrote this sticky on my own. I did not copy parts and sections from other stickies. I do not mind if you wish to use my format or wording from this sticky for your site's forum, but please ask me first. I have noticed this format and wording being used on other sites without my notification. This is plagarism. Just because you change a few words around does not make it ok. Please, just ask me first. I can say with 99.9% certainty, if you ask, I will allow you to use it. There are just a few simple rules that everyone has to abide by. Failure to abide by these rules may result in a lock or deletion of your thread. I. Copyrights This is a general rule for the entire site. You may not attach copyrighted music to the site. In addition, you may not upload copyrighted music files to a third party upload server and post the link to it here. We, as the moderators of WBW, cannot say whether or not you are “allowed” to use P2P programs to obtain music. We however, can say you may not provide download links(i.e. torrents, etc.) to this material on Whatboyswant. II. Filter Circumvention There are two forum filters that are in use on WBW. The greylist filter and the blacklist filter. × The greylist filter requires that all URLs posted by any member with less than 100 posts be moderated. More information here. × The blacklist filter removes certain terms and website names. If a website has been spammed here in the past, it will be blacklisted, and therefore cannot be posted. If you try to bypass either of these filters, your post will be deleted, and a warning will be given. If this rule is repeatedly broken, you will be reported to site admin, who will take measures into their own hands. III. Posting Etiquette Again, this is a general rule for the entire site. Please do not use all capital letters in a thread title. Also with posting, try not to double post. This is an important rule in the “What are you listening to threads.” The only time it would be acceptable to post after yourself is if AT LEAST half an hour has passed and no one else has posted. This allows the thread to be bumped and more people to see it.Please keep this to a minimum of three in a row. While on the subjest of the "What are you listening to" threads, they will run until 50 pages; other threads will go to 50. There are simply too many posts to only allow 50 pages for the "What are you listening to" threads. IV. Reporting Posts/Keeping the Forum Clean If you happen to notice any rules being violated in this forum, I'd appreciate if it was reported. I check the reposted posts everytime I enter this forum. If there is a post that you feel needs to be edited/deleted, please use the report post button located at the bottom right of the post in question. If there is any doubt in your mind that the post shouldn't be there, report it. I hate to bring up the old cliche, but it's better to be safe than sorry. V. Locked threads It appears there is a new script in place that autoamtically locks threads which have not been posted in for 30, or one month. Since this is a slower forum on WBW, some threads may become locked which could have valuble posts added. If this is the case, just send me a PM, and I will unlock the thread. In closing, I’d like to thank you for reading this sticky. Enjoy the music forum, and happy posting.
