My first 3 cars were Ford Populars/Anglias. The first my father bought for me (£25) when I passed my driving test in 1967 and had at one time been owned by Lucas Industries and had a full dashboard of their instruments (including Altimeter ?), and then 2nd and 3rd I bought for £8 the pair. I built a good one out of the two, sold it for £10 and the other sold for parts for £8. Not a bad weeks work, as at the time I earned £4 a week as an apprentice mechanic.
